One of the best new Laws went into effect Jan -06 . Credit Card companies have to raise the the  Minimum payment to around 4 percent of your Credit Card bill. At the current 2% charged by most credit card companies , it can literally take decades to pay off a credit card bill .

The new rules will in the long run be far better for the consumer , while the payments will increase for the 10% of Card holders who only pay the minimum each month , those consumers will at least be making a real contribution to paying their debt down .
